Case Calculator

The Case Calculator is designed to analyze products that are sold with one or more servings per case, each serving being individually packaged. Cases of bottled beer, canned soda and bottled water are examples. A case of 1.5 liter wine sold in a store would be analyzed with the case calculator but a case of 1.5 liter wine sold in a restaurant would be analyzed with the Wine Calculator. This is because for the purposes of the store the sell units are individually packaged, but the restaurant must repackage the wine into smaller servings, usually by pouring it into wine glasses. Because of the repackaging the wine, liquor, keg and soda calculators also have additional fields for selecting serving style and accommodating service loss. Clearly the case calculator is not only used for off-premise, as restaurants and bars sell many products that do not require repackaging such as bottled beer and 187 milliliter wines.
